Hi, my name is Johana Sanabria. I’m a first-generation Latina and the oldest daughter, raised by a Salvadoran single mother who taught me what it meant to work hard, keep going, and make something out of every opportunity you’re given. So much of who I am comes from watching her sacrifice, provide, and keep moving forward even when things weren’t easy.

That connection to culture has always shaped me. I went on to earn Bachelor of Arts degrees in Latino/a Studies and Criminal Justice from San Francisco State University, and that same interest in identity, community, history, and opportunity still influences the way I build today.

It’s also why, back in 2021, I chose the name Latina Lash Spot for my service business. I wanted my identity and where I came from to be part of what I was creating from the very beginning.

I started in the lash industry as an artist first, learning through experience, trial and error, and constantly investing in my craft. Over time, I became deeply interested in the products we use behind the scenes — not just how they look, but how they perform, how consistent they are, and how much they can impact an artist’s work.

As Latina Lash Spot eventually grew into Latina Lash Shop, that meaning grew with it. Culture, family, artistry, growth, and creating opportunities for other artists became more than parts of my story — they became part of the purpose behind the brand.
